Dr. Taylor Goulbourne has spent more than a decade working alongside nonprofits, community-based organizations, and anchor institutions doing meaningful work in Omaha and beyond. Through her independent research and evaluation practice, she has seen firsthand what community organizations can do when they have the tools to understand their own conditions, tell their story, and make the case to funders, and what gets left on the table when they don't. That experience, combined with a PhD in Health Communication and published research establishing that a community's ability to access and act on information about its own conditions is itself a driver of health equity, is the foundation ODC is built on.

Taylor currently serves as a part-time faculty member at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Public Health and stays closely connected to Omaha's community ecosystem through her work with the Center for Reducing Health Disparities and her role on the board of EPIC for Girls, where she chairs the Program Committee supporting programs for girls of color across the city. ODC is a direct extension of that work: turning years of research and relationships into a resource built with, not just for, the community it serves.
